About DISS Restoration
DISS Restoration has served Farrell since 2021. Meet our IICRC-certified restoration team. Licensed, insured, locally owned.
DISS Restoration opened its doors in 2021 with a narrow focus: water, fire, and mold damage don’t wait for business hours, and the companies that respond to them need to actually show up. That’s still the whole premise. We’re not a general contractor who added “restoration” to a service list. It’s the work itself, the drying equipment, the claims documentation, the containment barriers, that the company was built around from day one.
What we do
Most days start with a phone call from someone who didn’t expect to need us. A pipe let go overnight. A grease fire got out of hand. A basement that’s been “a little musty” for months finally got tested and came back positive. Because our hours are 24/7, that call can come in at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday, and someone picks up.
A good chunk of the job happens after the water is gone or the smoke has cleared: photographing damaged materials, writing moisture logs, and working directly with insurance adjusters so a homeowner isn’t stuck translating technical findings into claim language on top of everything else they’re dealing with. Restoration work is equal parts fieldwork and paperwork, and we treat both halves as part of the job, not an afterthought.
Our certifications and licensure
IICRC (the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) sets the technical standards for this industry, how structures should be dried, how fire residue should be cleaned, how mold remediation should be contained and verified. Our team holds IICRC certification as a firm, along with individual technician credentials in Water Restoration (WRT), Fire & Smoke Restoration (FSRT), Mold Remediation (AMRT), and Applied Structural Drying (ASD). Those aren’t marketing badges; they correspond to specific protocols (like the IICRC S500 standard for water damage) that determine how a job is actually run.
We’re also EPA Lead-Safe Certified, which matters specifically for homes built before 1978: federal law requires lead-safe work practices any time those structures are disturbed during repairs, and our crews are trained to follow them. OSHA training rounds out the safety side, covering the respiratory, electrical, and structural hazards that show up on damaged properties.
Where we work
DISS Restoration is based in Farrell, in Mercer County’s Shenango Valley, close enough to the Ohio line that we cover both sides of the border without it being a long drive. The housing stock here runs older, plenty of pre-1978 construction, which is part of why the Lead-Safe certification isn’t just a checkbox for us. We serve Farrell and the surrounding communities, including Sharon, Hermitage, and the smaller boroughs around them, responding to homes and commercial properties across the region as calls come in.
